DEHUMIDIFIERS FOR THE STORAGE OF GARLIC AND ONION

The use of our low temperature dehumidifiers for the conservation of onions and garlic can avoid significant and unwanted waste of material, improving the storage process. The new dehumidifiers for onion storage rooms are equipped with latest generation SCROLL compressors. They represent the ideal solution for use in agri-food conservation cells and have been designed to control the high and unwanted increase in relative humidity during the storage and preservation phases. Some of the peculiar characteristics that are particularly useful in the field of storage rooms for food products.

The correct percentage of relative humidity in the onion and garlic preservation and storage cells also makes it possible to extend the storage and conservation times which normally could not be achieved without the use of our low temperature dehumidifiers. Our DRY industrial dehumidifiers (available in both the ducted and fixed installation or trolley-mounted versions) are suitable for onion storage cells or in any case in all situations where the treatment of large quantities of air is required. They have a structure and panels made of painted galvanized steel sheet. Coils in copper tube and finned aluminum pack. High performance hermetic compressor. High prevalence centrifugal fan. They are equipped with a thermostatic valve, minimum and maximum pressure switches, drier filter. A dedicated electronic board, connected to the antifreeze probe, controls the defrosting of the dehumidifiers and the main operating parameters.

The main applications of the DRY and KT dehumidifiers series 

The DRY and KT series dehumidifiers are direct expansion refrigeration cycle devices, whose operation is based on the physical principle whereby the air, when it comes into contact with a cold surface, wets it, releasing humidity in the form of condensation drops.

In practice, a refrigeration machine keeps a coil cold through which the air is passed to cool and dehumidify. Subsequently, passing through a hot heat exchanger, the air heats up and returns to the environment dehumidified and at a temperature slightly higher than the initial one.
Any excess humidity in the onion storage cells could lead to phenomena of anomalous proliferation of mold and bacteria, leading in the most serious cases to the rotting of the product, in the same way a lack of relative humidity in the storage of the onion could lead to a greater weight loss compared to the normal physiological weight loss with consequent even considerable economic losses.
